What we're looking for:
We are looking for an expert Informatica Software Engineer to join the Technology Services team at Direct Line Group. We're looking for curious minds, status-quo challengers and critical thinkers who will bring a fresh perspective to our team!
We need your help replacing the Oracle Finance eBusiness Suite (hardware and applications) with a Oracle Fusion ERP thereby taking advantage of cloud technology which will maintain usability with DLG technology and add new capabilities!
You will be compliant with new accounting standards for insurance contracts (IFRS17) which will change how DLG measure the profit/loss from insurance contracts and how we calculate reserves.
Who you'll be working with:
As part of the Application and Development team, specifically working with the Finance Technology teams we are undertaking a significant set of initiatives to achieve several outcomes.
You will have a drive to succeed, assist in driving strategy and want to work in a technology rich and agile environment. Insurance experience is not essential, what is important is that you as an individual are a self-starter who has championed core technologies and used these to drive business benefits and outcomes.
What you'll be doing:

Own the design, development and operation of Informatica based platforms and act as the go-to person for resolving complex business and technical problems

Direct Informatica software engineers (both internal and suppliers), continuously improving their technical, agile and soft skills

Work across disciplines (e.g. testing, business analysis, solution design, operations) and develop skills outside your core specialism

Using your interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge between the silos and bring different teams together to work towards a common goal

Solid experience within: Technology Security and Risk Management and an expert in the Informatica (10.2) toolset.

Software engineering experience (design, development, QA) utilising agile methods (SCRUM, Kanban)

Experience of Linux or Unix operating systems and back-end: PL/SQL, Oracle databases, Redwood RMJ (batch scheduling).

It would also be good to have (however not essential) experience within: Finance domain, Oracle ERP product range, Administration and performance tuning of Oracle or SQL Server databases. Infrastructure: firewalls, load balancers, Unix and Windows system administration

What we'll give you
Come join us and you'll find yourself in the middle of one of the most on-the-go teams in the business, with autonomy and exposure to industry leaders on huge household brand names. We're always encouraging internal development and you'll have access to loads of learning opportunities, events and conferences to build your industry knowledge.
