Senior Infrastructure Engineer / DevOps nr. Reading to £60k
Senior Infrastructure Engineer / DevOps (Windows IIS .Net SQL Scripting AWS IaC). As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer / DevOps at this global software house you will own, maintain and continuously improve all systems provided as a service to support the core product, a virtual ticketing and queuing platform / solution for major leisure attractions across the globe to enhance customer experience.
As the sole Infrastructure Engineer / DevOps in the UK you will design and implement the tools and processes used for deployment and change management; assist in the design of new distributed systems; provide service capacity planning and demand for forecasting, anticipating performance bottlenecks and automate resource provisioning and allocation. You'll analyse, plan and maintain systems as the scale; run software performance analysis and system tuning and plan / execute disaster recover drills.
You'll be based in modern open plan offices close to Reading, a 10 minute walk from a mainline station. There's a friendly team atmosphere with regular pizza and board games evenings and core hours of 1000 to 1600.
Requirements:
·Keen to take ownership and drive innovation, automating wherever possible
·Fluent in one or more scripting or programming languages (e.g. PowerShell, bash, C#, JavaScript, etc.)
Strong experience with the Windows IIS, .Net, SQL Server stack
Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Chef, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform)
Good knowledge of AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation)
Collaborative with strong communication skills
