Trainee First & / or Second Line Technical Support Engineer who has some commercial experience supporting IT infrastructures and networks with excellent customer service skills and a passion for IT is required for a busy IT helpdesk / service desk within a well-established Company based in Theale, Berkshire.

SALARY:  £21,000 - £24,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits (32 Days Holiday per Year (including Bank Holidays), Free Onsite Parking, Modern Office Space with an easy commute from Junction 12 of the M4, plus Additional Product Training)

LOCATION: Theale, Berkshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday

** All Levels of Experience Considered **

KEY REQUIREMENTS: In addition to some previous Helpdesk Support experience you will also be required to have a Drivers Licence

Recent Computer Science Graduates or candidates that have completed a computer or networking related qualification or course such as a BTEC or A-Level computer science qualification, A+, MCSE certification or equivalent with some commercial experience will be considered.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity within a busy IT helpdesk / service desk for a Trainee First & / or Second Line Technical Support Engineer who has some commercial experience supporting IT infrastructures and networks with excellent customer service skills and a passion for IT.

This is a customer facing role, the passion to deliver customer satisfaction, high attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively are essential.

Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn is vital, although formal qualifications in relevant computing subjects are desirable, they are not mandatory.

Working as the Trainee First & / or Second Line Technical Support Engineer you will join the company's busy IT Helpdesk / Service Desk Team, supporting a wide range of customers from System Operators to IT Infrastructure Specialists that use the company's specialist software (additional technical product training will be provided).

As the Trainee First & / or Second Line Technical Support Engineer you will have excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve and fix problems, upgrade and install software remotely and in person. Although additional technical product training will be provided, you may have some previous experience working on a busy IT helpdesk and this would be an advantage.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Trainee First & / or Second Line Technical Support Engineer you will have the following attributes:

Understanding of working with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server

Competence with Internet technologies

Experience of Networking and Infrastructure support

A full driving licence

Recent Computer Science Graduates or candidates that have completed a Computer or networking related qualification or course such as a BTEC or A-Level computer science qualification, A+, MCSE certification or equivalent with some commercial experience will be considered
