For our client in the Ruhr area in Germany we are looking for a Network Product Engineer with WAN Optimization Focus.

Start: ASAP

End: 31.1.2020

Location: Ruhr area Germany

Remote: partly possible

Languages: English

JOB DUTIES:

The purpose of this role is to cover the product engineering aspects in a product development / product lifecycle context for a provider of managed network services, specifically managed WAN optimization products.

The duties go beyond pure network engineering tasks of creating designs and configurations but include enabling the operational departments to design, implement and fault-management the resulting services etc..

- Developing product and product enhancement ideas in a holistic context

- Creation of related designs and architecture documentation

- Interaction and collaboratiojn with other technical and non technical stakeholders (network operatons, IT, ....) in a project setting

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

- Some experience as a product developer or closely related environment, ideally in a multinational environment.

- Demonstrable hands-on experience as an Engineer in IT and Telecommunications.

- In depth knowledge and experience in WAN Optimization products such as Riverbed, Cisco WAAS etc. (at least one of them - preferably Cisco WAAS)

- Highly developed and adaptive communications skills

- Strong team-player

- Ability to think and evaluate issues holistically and in a wider context.

- Used to work self-directed towards agreed outcomes.

- English language skills to a business standard

- Ability to organize priorities

- Ability to work under pressure and cope with a continually changing and demanding environment

- Candidates must be willing to show some flexibility iwth their working time, i.e. accept appointments in the late afternoon, early eavning hours as needed due to a high degree of interaction with US colleagues.DESIRED SKILLS:

- Experience with next generation SDN architectures and products is desirable

- Some experience with Network Functions Virtualization is a definitive plus.

- Understanding of commercial principles and business strategy

- Experience working in a large, internationally oriented organization

- Experience with agile project management environmentsEDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

- Not required, but nice to have if the candidate would have certifications in the WAN Optimizaion and virtualization realm.
