Infrastructure Test Analysts undertake installation/build and testing activities as part of a complete testing service in order to provide projects with the information they require to be able to make decisions regarding solution construction, or its individual components, its suitability for acceptance into the next development stage or into production. Advanced Infrastructure Test Analysts contribute to the testing activities by developing and executing test cases, checking and reporting test results and logging and supporting test incidents. Advanced Infrastructure Test Analysts have advanced testing expertise and specialist responsibilities; they may also act as mentors for more junior Test Analysts
Accountabilities and requirements
* Installation/build of Windows Server/Windows Desktop/Laptop infrastructure including application of Policy, User/role creations to support installation
* Creation of Installation test cases and execution to provide verification of installation, as per contractual delivery, prior to handover for formal application testing (CORE and Third Party Applications)
* Creation of test cases and identification of test data required in response to clearly defined requirements, including the creation of test cases in any areas of testing specialisation
* Execution of test cases and the recording of test results in accordance with established test plan(s), including the execution of test cases in any areas of testing specialisation
* Test results checking and reporting
* Test Incident (Defect) logging, investigation and support
* Collection of testing related measurements and metrics
* Liaison with integration staff to achieve product release within task timescales
* Timely feedback of progress and issues
* Investigation and resolution of incidents arising during validation in conjunction with integration and/or customer staff
* Ability to work in a flexible manner in order to assist in meeting project/programme objectives

Knowledge and Experience
* ISEB or ISTQB accreditation
* UK single national
* Holds valid DV clearance (or willing to undergo)
* Methodical and structured approach to working
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Significant and demonstrable industry experience
* Excellent knowledge of testing process, techniques and tools
* Demonstrable testing specialisation in one of the following areas of testing:
o Test Case Design
o Test Case Automation
o Performance, Volume and Stress Testing
* Can produce test cases that address clearly defined requirements
* Can produce test documents that are precise, clear and unambiguous
* Ensures that all test activities are logged and that an up to date audit trail is available
* Works in an organised and methodical way
* Is recognised as a specialist in a particular area of testing
* Good knowledge of Test and Defect management systems
* Good knowledge of Configuration management systems
