IM&T Principal Business Analyst

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Business Analyst to join our growing UK business. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the future of IT within Naval Ships. BAE Systems are currently working on one of the biggest projects in the UK defence market right now. You have the opportunity to make your mark on the Type 26 Global Combat Ship programme where we are proudly constructing the next generation of frigate for the Royal Navy.

We are also demonstrating our export capability through the Hunter Class Frigate Programme in Australia and the Canadian Surface Combatant Programme. The successful candidate in this role will have extensive experience in Enterprise or Solution Architecture with a proven track record ideally within complex engineering projects.

As an IM&T Principle Business Analyst your main responsibilities will involve:

Business Analysis of internal processes, tools and data flows

Requirements engineering and management of clear specification documentation

Process modelling

Experience/knowledge of Agile methodology and Scrum process

Experience/knowledge of product quality, change and release management

Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems

End to end digital data transformation into clear production artifacts

Knowledge of data quality and governance

 

As an IM&T Principle Business Analyst your skills and qualifications must include:

Subject matter expert in the design of complex solutions across enterprise applications and how those solutions can support the shipbuilding business processes

Several years' experience of business analysis of complex tools and processes

Experience of delivering a requirement and solution specification to the development team

 

It would be advantageous to have some of the following skills and experience:

Responsible for delivery of manufacturing data into the operational environment

Responsible for ensuring the capability delivered, is installed and adopted as working practices and process alignment is understood

Responsible for ensuring the business quality values are evident through any capability released to Operations

 

What we're looking for in you

You will have a positive attitude, professional demeanour and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent organisational and time-management skills will be required for this role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with an attention to detail and ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks. In this role it is key you can communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.

 

Location: Glasgow, Potential for occasional travel between other UK sites to meet customer needs.
