DevOps Engineer

Location: Bristol

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £400 per day

The Role

The cloud engineering team currently provide support for the following:

Production and non-production application support , Linux deployment on PureApps platform, development of application scripts, code / application deployments, 3rd level problem analysis / solving including batch support, patching, security remediation, application support of Infosphere Suite including Master Data Management, Information Server, Optim, Guardium. Software Installation and Configuration. Capacity Planning.

The development of the Private Cloud is greatly expanding the level of work as in addition to the above duties, the team will now be responsible for developing and maintaining topology 'patterns' of infrastructure on the private cloud, and developing and maintaining component 'patterns' for deployment to the private cloud. The infrastructure and component 'patterns' will be required for all applications migrating to the private cloud, both at migration, and during any changes to those applications (refreshes, upgrades, changes to configurations etc).

Skills/ Technologies RequiredKnowledge and use of IBM blueprint designer, IBM Urbancode deploy.ITIL understanding.Any exposure to ESX / virtualised technology. (PureApps / Bluemix specifically)General understanding of SQL / DB2 databases.Some exposure to pythonGeneral Windows desktop / server support skills, general Linux skills including software installation and bash scripting

DesiredUse of standard Microsoft suite, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
