Role: Employee Relations Manager Location: Woking Duration: 6 months Part time position - 3 days per week (7.5 hours per day) This is a business-critical role leading on our UK Employee Relations strategy. The role reports into the Head of UK Employee Engagement & Advisory Services and forms part of a wider HR management team with accountability for all Employee Relations mattersThis role sits within the UK Core Services function which is home to business specialists who support the UK business and the global teams based in the UK.The role is business critical as you will be leading on our UK Employee Relations strategy and reports into the Head of UK Employee Engagement & Advisory Services and forms part of a wider HR management team.The focus of your role This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to own Employee Relations and bring their innovative ideas and thoughts with them to design and develop new policies within the ever-changing world of employee relations.This role sits in the UK, however, is also part of a wider shared services HR team. It forms a fundamental part of our client's employee engagement proposition with a strong emphasis on resolution.You will have extensive hands on ER policy/case management experience with strong UK Employment Law and GDPR knowledge. You will be comfortable managing your own case load from end to end and coaching others on case management strategy and commercial considerations. You will be able to build rapport with team members and internal clients quickly and be able to hit the ground running. What you'll do ER strategy Policy design, implementationCase management training, strategy andCollective consultation and individual consultationInformal and Formal ResolutionManage engagement with the Employment Law team internally and external advisorsManage employment claimsThis role has the following key strands: Management of both complex and/or high-risk ER cases in conjunction with the HR team with a focus on advice, guidance and coaching.Advising the business on the appropriate strategy to manage Employment Tribunal claims as well as managing the relationship with our legal team to those claims or other matters.Provide advice and guidance to HR and the business with regards to TUPE where there is a restructuring element.Contribution to Bid and audit documents/processes.Strategy and implementation advice on business restructuring.Responsible for contractual documentation, such as Employment contracts, SAs and policiesEnsuring that the appropriate guidance is fit for purpose for employees in respect of their entitlements, rights and obligations. What you'll bring Have significant hands-on experience of dealing with ER matters such as misconduct, employee grievances, GDPR, employee sickness/health & wellbeing, performance management, employment disputesHave experience in dealing with business restructuring such as head count reduction;Be effective and professional communicators able to draw relevant facts from, and give guidance to, clients some of whom will have little or no employee relations knowledge;Ability to advise in a skilful, authentic way and have excellent influencing skills;Draft written communications that combine ease of reading with technical clarity; and present to a HR, Legal or managers at training events/briefings etc;Have a flexible and supportive approach to working within a team and enjoy working with ambiguity;Have strong analytical skills and be able to gather and analyse information, problem-solve, and make decisions;Good judgement and analytical skills to assess options and craft solutions, whilst identifying and evaluating risks;Confident with using and interpreting data for reporting purposes and to identify trends to inform our priorities;Ideally CIPD qualified.
