Junior Content Analyst

As a trusted, approved and preferred recruitment partner to this global publishing and digital media company, we have been asked to assist in the recruitment of a Junior Content Analyst to join them on a permanent basis at their HQ in Central London.

You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most ground-breaking digital products in the industry, most of which are produced in XML. You will be required to undertake Quality Assurance (QA), Testing and Management of the platforms XML Content. The successful candidate will be joining this award-winning organisation's growing digital team.

What You'll Be Doing

-QA, Testing and Management of the platform's XML Content

-Checking XML Coded Texts for structural and textural errors

-Identifying and Rectifying errors in the XML Files (following automated / manual routines)

-Inputting / Checking metadata and taxonomy indexing, to improve discoverability of XML texts

-Testing online content using our platforms to identify any data and performance issues

-Analysing content and contributing to mark-up guidelines

-Managing the workflow (from conversion, to upload for content sets on existing platforms)

Essential Skills and Experience Required

-Knowledge of XML (ideally as applied in a publishing / academic / online environment)

Desirable Skills and Experience

-Basic Knowledge of HTML will be beneficial

-xPath Experience (to work with and navigate highly structured documents)

-Excellent written English and communication skills

-Awareness of editorial issues in relation to digital content conversion

- Familiarity with XML Querying / Transformation (xQuery or XSLT)

-Use of Digital Editing Software (oXygen, XML Spy, or similar)

-Experience working with Databases or CMS

-Familiar with XML Content Models and Validation (DocBook / TEI)

-Experience within Publishing Environment (academic social sciences or humanities beneficial)

-Interest in digital technology development within the publishing / digital media industry
