Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Would you like to an exciting opportunity to join our Development Quality Assurance Department? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at our site in Rochester.
As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be working on new avionics development projects. This opportunity enables someone with existing DO - 178 B/C (minimum) experience to Design Assurance Level (DAL) A to gain further knowledge and experience in the regulation of safety and integration of aircraft systems software.
This role will provide you with excellent and ongoing training and development, coming in a s less experienced Engineer there will be a lot of scope for development upwards within the team. This role will provide exposure to work alongside various stakeholders across the business.
Your main responsibilities as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer will involve:
Primary Role: Develop and Implement project audit plans to verify and certify compliance with DO-178B/C and other regulatory requirements
Planning, conducting, reporting and effectively communicating project audit results.
Managing and maintaining the Quality tasks and activities in line with the Quality Assurance Plan
Documenting the completion of effective actions to address root cause and prevent recurrence
Supporting process owners in the development of root cause and action plans to address findings.
Reporting progress and drive escalation of overdue audit corrective actions.
Secondary roles: There is an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the quality assurance role within the System development lifecycle. This will provide the opportunity to;
Gaining experience in the Aerospace industry including processes such as ARP4754 - (Guidelines for Development of Civil Aircraft and Systems) and ARP 4761, Guidelines and Methods for
Conducting the Safety Assessment Process on Civil Airborne Systems and Equipment.
Gaining experience in associated Military Standards for Systems and Software design and development.
Gaining experience in PLD development to DO-254, Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
Basic understanding of Software and Quality
Understanding and experience in configuration management
Understanding and experience in high integrity, safety critical, software design, development and certification
Demonstrable evidence of root cause investigations and supporting implementation of actions to prevent recurrence
Use of associated tools for Requirements Management and Configuration Management
Desirable
Experience of EN9100 (AS9100) Quality System requirements
Experience of ARP-4754 Guidelines for Development of Civil Aircraft and Systems
Experience of ARP-4761 Guidelines and Methods for Conducting the Safety Assessment Process on Civil Airborne Systems and Equipment
Experience of hosting external audit teams e.g. regulatory authority, certification bodies or customers
