Role: Senior Azure Big Data Architect

Duration: 6 months

You will be working for a multinational corporation that provides IT services, including digital, technology, consulting, and operations services.

Our client provides the most comprehensive and accurate intelligence on media consumption, performance and value.

Job Summary

* Experienced hands-on Big Data Architect required to design and implement a new technology and data processing platform as part of a digital transformation programme for a global media intelligence business.

* The Data Architect will be required to establish a sufficiently deep knowledge of the business domain and actively support the design and implementation of a new target architecture comprised of Big Data and Analytics technologies.

* Being able to lead discussions and engage effectively with non-technical stakeholders as well as technical members of the team is absolutely essential.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and shape the data processing and analytics solution based on Big Data/BI technology stack

* Assemble and present solution designs with deep technical details

* Document, communicate and review the data architecture and architectural decisions

* Work closely with Solution Architects, Data Modellers, Enterprise Data Architect, Enterprise Architects and CTO

* Work closely with business stakeholders, business analysts and product leads to understand the business requirements

* Define logical and physical data models to an appropriate level of detail

* Support the technical leads to correctly implement and realise the architecture as defined.

* Being able to work from client location

Essential Skills:

* Confident communicator - able to present solutions in a clear manner to technical and non-technical audiences

* Experience of transforming the data model with the ability to effectively challenge the status quo

* Ability to effectively rationalise and consolidate data definitions

* Hands-on experience as a Big Data Architect with a solid design/development background in any of Scala, Java, or Python

* Rich experience working in distributed development teams.

* Experience of leading and delivering data analytics projects

* Experience with big data solutions on premises and on the cloud (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud)

* Production project experience with at least one of the Big Data technologies

* Good knowledge and experience of batch processing, real-time processing and data streaming using tools such as Azure Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Databricks / Hadoop / Spark

* NoSQL databases

* Practical knowledge of Agile delivery in a complex environment is preferred

* Spark processing, Streaming and performance tuning experience (Hands on experience)

* Logical and Physical Data Modelling using tools such as ERWIN

* Deep expertise Ideally in Scala or Python

Nice to Have Skills.

* End to end project/product delivery experience

* Strong knowledge and experience of Agile delivery models
