The SAP Support Manager Role:

Our Development teams have a reputation for excellence, innovation and customer satisfaction. To support our UK customer base and shape the team for the next level of evolution and the next generation of AMS. We are looking for a Development Manager with good SAP skills and great ideas, are intently customer focused, and want to shape the team to support the customer needs of the future.

In this role, you will:

+ Along with senior management track plan vs budget, plan for capacity, ensure the teams are delivering high quality solutions and adhering to the AMS processes and best practices
+ Develop a vision and strategy for the next generation of AMS, recognising changes SAP are making and position the team to take advantages of these and support customer's future needs
+ Recognise opportunities for improvements to procedures by pro-actively offering ideas and solutions
+ Lead team in "Evolution or Innovation" work identified and agreed by the Service Architect and through the it.engage process
+ Support the team in providing advisory services to customers making the journey to digitalisation and help to differentiate us in the market
+ Identify ways to become a proactive value added solution provider to our customers
+ Contribute to the on-going development of the Managed Support function by encouraging the sharing of knowledge, experience and expertise
+ Look for collaboration opportunities with other organisations with itelligence and look to foster partnerships
+ Provide an escalation level for customer issues, including; management, resolution and communication as appropriate

Team Management:

+ Build and manage a strong performing development team covering ABAP, BW and Cloud, supporting them in their Personal Development Plans
+ Develop a vision and strategy for the team going forward, looking at opportunities for cross-skilling and improvements around new ways of working and/or new technology enhancements
+ Set clear objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, and instil performance-oriented culture with focus on accountability
+ Encouraging team input into procedures and practices - assisting them in developing their ideas
+ Ensure appropriate levels of coverage across the team to support existing and future customer needs
+ Work closely with the Delivery Team Leads and SDMs and focus on agility and speed, and to maintain a high satisfaction rate in customer service across

Configuration & Development Management:

+ Ensure the team produce good quality analysis, design, configuration and development changes, and that they manage delivery through to successful completion, keeping customers and management informed appropriately
+ Work closely with other delivery teams to ensure simplicity and efficiency in design, and that any changes are collaboratively reviewed and resolved
+ Ensure that all medium sized and above developments are reviewed
+ Develop and maintain knowledge of AMS processes ensuring any development change is aligned and streamlined. Look for opportunities where technology can support the business objectives further, working closely with other Technology teams
+ Ensure customer changes are documented correctly and stored centrally
+ Ensure SOX compliances is considered, monitored and maintained

Workload Management:

+ Manage the prioritised backlog of work requests, with estimates for delivery provided and adhered to, and retrospectives conducted to improve further as a team. Ensure priorities are clearly identified and agreed
+ Closely monitor regular management reports for SLA and team performance objectives, and identify improvements to both the processes and reports
+ Support the business in delivery of projects as required

Future Thinking:

+ Proactively look for new ideas, processes, collaborations or technology opportunities, to improve the performance of the team, processes or differentiators
+ Maintain the AMS IP Catalogue and look for new innovations that can be packaged and delivered as itelli IP. Look for opportunities to promote our IP, both to customers and internally and ultimately sell to our customers

Your Experience:

+ Previous experience managing a team of Developers
+ Deep knowledge of SAP development and tools (including integration with other external applications)
+ Significant experience across application life cycle management, as well as operational support processes
+ Customer focused mind set, ensuring all development is of high quality, workload monitored proactively, and incidents closed out swiftly. Keeping bother internal and external customers informed throughout
