Software Engineer - Abbey Wood - 6 Months (Subject to Extension)My client is looking for an experienced Software Engineer, on an initial 6-month contract, with scope for likely extension. The ideal candidate will be based full time on site, and the client can offer a competitive daily rate. Responsibilities & Outputs:To determine the software requirements and identify options for MUDTRAITS.To support the Authority procurement of MUDTRAIT variants, including competition and assessment activitiesNote that the vendor will be responsible for undertaking the detailed design of the terminals. This role is to support the Authority in defining the needs and architecture ahead of the competition and assessing the vendor responses. Essential skills, knowledge, capabilities etc Defining the software requirements and architecture for secure user devices.Advising the hardware lead on the performance requirements required by military-specific applications, the operating system and COTS utilities.Advising the security lead on the security aspects of the software architecture.MUDTs to be deployed into the land environment, such as soldier-carried or installed in armoured vehicles. Desirable skills, knowledge, capabilities etc Familiarity with BOWMAN (BCIP)/LE TacCIS, especially BMA (Battle Management Application).Support to MoD procurement competitions and accreditation.Familiarity with HFI/UCD aspects of operational systems.Interfacing to radio equipment.
