 The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a software protocol development engineer to join a team developing test and measurement applications for a diverse range of industries including telecommunications, aerospace and defence.

 Key Skills/Responsibilities
 Design, implementation and testing of softwareTo develop software in C++ to test radio communications equipmentCreation of system level software requirements and design specificationsParticipate in software design reviewsReviewing technical documents related to communications standardsTo maintain, test and improve existing softwareProven knowledge in C++ development, object-oriented design and implementationProven ability to design, implement, integrate and debug complex hardware / software systemsKnowledge of cellular communications standardsDetailed knowledge of the protocol of one of the cellular communications standards, preferably NAS. Either 2G, 3G, LTE or 5G, RRC would be considered.Proven knowledge of debugging communications protocols
 Desirable Skills
 Knowledge of RF telecommunicationsKnowledge of RF test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analysers and communications testersConfiguration management tools (Clearcase, GIT, RTC)3GPP standardisationThe Individual
