What are we looking for?

An Infrastructure Engineer who is comfortable working in a system development environment and providing face to face on premise customer support. The candidate will have experience of Microsoft Server, Cisco Networking and ideally have had exposure to VMWare virtual environments. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will proactively work with Senior Infrastructure Engineers and Solution Architects in the delivery of projects.

The successful candidate will work within a team of fellow professionals in a technology driven environment that offers excellent career progression.

The team is responsible for delivery of client projects, service patching, incident resolution, security response, acceptance into service, technology upgrades, problem management, datacentre operations, automation and efficiency improvements, technical mentoring, presales input, and more.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be hands-on and have oversight of technical issues, technically leading tasks and incidents through to resolution.

Skills/Experience

* Technical background with a broad range of knowledge, the tech stack is based on Microsoft Server, VMWare, Cisco networking and a mixture of COTS and custom applications.

* Experience providing customer support to IT systems, preferably within the Military environment.

* Calm and methodical approach to problem solving

* Industry standard qualifications, or equivalent knowledge, such as MCSA, CISSP, CCNA, ITIL, VCP, degree

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Willing to provide 24/7 support on a weekly rota

* Willing to go through enhanced clearance

The position is based in Portsmouth, but our teams support projects throughout the country so a willingness to travel is essential. This could be anywhere from one day to a week at a time.
