Role: Electronics Wireperson (Trainee)

QTS targets are used to enable realistic weapons test and evaluation and operator training in over 40 countries worldwide with QTS providing a complete managed service in over 15 of these countries.Job description/Person specificationWe are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Electronics Wireperson or Electronics Wireperson Trainee to join our small yet experienced team based in Ashford. Reporting to the Electronics Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out production activities including; wiring harnesses, looms, cable assemblies, PCB's, batteries and various electro-mechanical assemblies.
The role would include:
* Populating Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's), through-hole and surface mounted component soldering
* Wiring of complex harnesses, looms and cables
* The assembly of electro-mechanical assemblies
* The use of basic hand tools including crimp tools
* Quality inspection checks on assemblies.
We are looking for either; an experienced Electronics Wireperson that has the skills and experience of basic soldering, crimping and wiring, or an enthusiastic and passionate individual that possesses the desire and ability to learn on the job. If a trainee position is offered you will follow a QTS training program through your employment and you will be taught the skills and gain the experience to understand wiring diagrams, engineering drawings and carry soldering and crimping to the highest standard, while gaining industry standard certifications along the way (IPC-A-610 and IPC-WHMA-A-620). Working as part of a small team, you will be able to adapt to a variety of tasks, contributing positively and effectively to the overall success of the team and the business.Salary is depending upon experience and role offered.
This role is 37 hours per week on the following pattern:
Monday to Thursday - 8.30am to 5pm
Friday - 8.30am to 1.30pm
