Spring Technology are working with a leading construction business in Huddersfield to recruit an AIX Engineer.

The Role

You will be responsible for the servers our client uses by keeping up checks and maintenance on a day to day basis. This will be a varied role so the candidate to be very technical and have a wide skills set.

The Responsibilities

*Provide a support service to the datacentre and remote site equipment including troubleshooting, installation and upgrades.

*Day by day management of resources and issues.

*Spot-checks on the health of the laptops, systems and software that our client uses.

*System upgrades and patching.

*Responding to IT related support calls and taking ownership of these calls and issues.

*Investigate the root-cause of incidents and look to implement fixes.

*Utilise scripts and automated system tools to ensure consistency and efficacy of system tasks.

*Ensure that project work is completed to timescales.

The Requirements

*Experience within a similar position is essential.

*Experience in supporting AIX and p-Series server technologies.

*Strong experience of UNIX scripting.

*Experience of administering and supporting multiple systems in complex environments.

*Experience of installing, configuring and upgrading infrastructure systems.

*Excellent communication skills as this role will require communication to other parts of the business.
