Data Architect: Big data, cloud, Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, YARN, AWS, MDM, Data Warehousing, Real-time, DevOps, EC2,  SOA, Java, J2EE, Enterprise applications, microservices, MVC, CI, Agile Scrum.

Expanding and profitable big data solution provider is looking for a talented Data Architect with experience of building large-scale data solutions for high profile organisations.   This is a medium sized organisation, so they are not looking for a high level only, enterprise architect as the emphasis is more on someone to technically design full data architectures enabling the high speed calculations and processing of financial data in the cloud

You will be business facing so need excellent communication and stakeholder management skills as well as the ability to work closely with development to ensure they are delivering on your vision and the ultimate business goals and functionality. This will involve leadership and mentoring skills as a key player within IT, setting direction, evaluating current state and future state architectures and defining the road map of how to get there.

The role is more about the type of person than a technical skills list as you will be directly involved in the architecture and design of the Big Data platforms, Cloud based application architecture and Data Integration processes. This role would suit someone who is a strong, fundamental technologist from a development background who has architected and designed large applications (not necessarily financial, could be telecoms, air-traffic control etc) with detailed experience of some of the following:  Big Data, Hadoop Ecosystem, Hive, Spark, microservices, SQL, Java/J2EE, Predictive modelling .

A great opportunity to be a key person in the strategic decisions and implementations of next generation platforms in a thriving financial organisation.
