My client is a specialist Contract Electronics Manufacturer, serving world-class customers in high-reliability industries by providing a complete set of electronics design and manufacturing solutions. Due to large scale growth they are currently recruiting a Electronics Hardware Engineer to be based in Hook
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Responsibility for specification, design and completion of assigned electronics design tasks according to recognised best practice electronics design and to agreed cost, production engineering and test targets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY TASKS:
Customer
-Assist Hardware Engineering Manager in the specifying and agreement of electronics design deliverables.
-Work on technology solutions in conjunction with customer
-Understand the complete product proposition and recommend appropriate architecture solutions
-Attend customer project meetings to report on progress as required
Project Management
-Assist in the creation of work plans for input to schedules generated by the project management team
-Create / assist on the generation of product requirement specifications
-Raise exceptions to the Hardware Engineering Manager when encountering deviations to agreed schedules or costs
-Liaise with software, mechanical and industrial designers to ensure integration compliance.
Product Creation
-Create electronics schematics using internal software to offer required product functionality from assigned tasks
-Create PCB layouts and select appropriate electronic components to support assigned design tasks
-Support firmware development as appropriate
-Liaise with global suppliers, hardware, software and manufacturing engineering teams to introduce and integrate new technology.
-Work closely with the mechanical engineering team to achieve required radiated RF and EMC performance.
-Assure that created designs meets agreed internal and product regulatory standards. Eg. CE/FCC/PTCRB/GCF/FDA/UL
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
*Use of schematic layout SW
*Use of PCB layout software
*Use of electronics simulation for thermal and EMC characterisation
*Use of appropriate software tools to prototype, integrate and debug hardware
EXPERIENCE:
*IEEE embedded design
*Electronics circuit design, integration and test within a project environment
