Global organisation is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to be a key technical presence based at their new Infrastructure HQ in Birmingham.
Reporting to the Head of Network Services as a Network Engineer you will provide a high level of technical expertise, 2nd, 3rd and potential 4th line for the Network Services Team.
You will work across all LAN/WAN and Security technical areas within the Networks and Shared Services environment which require you to coexist with the Infrastructure Services, Storage and Hosting, Technical Design and Architecture Teams to ensure solutions compatibility and compliance to Service Agreements and Technical Standards.
This post will require you will need to be a "tenacious completer" that is also responsible for ensuring your levels of support and input are aligned and prioritised to meet live system deadlines and project timescales.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and support of Network Services to ensure your support provides quality driven, high-level technical maintenance of the LAN and WAN Cisco Infrastructure as well peripheral Juniper, Mitel and/or Avaya systems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Owning technical support, projects, BAU operational support and improvements for the Networks and Shared Services area, you will need to ensure appropriate and successful implementation your key technical and functional responsibilities will involve:
* Support of the Cisco Network Infrastructure
* Network Implementation, Operations and Planning
* Network Security, Firewalls, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint
* The support of project planning activities, defining the correct approach and activities for projects to reach their technical goals
* Assure the planning, scheduling and technical detail of Change Requests and routine maintenance activities are completed
* Manage Root Cause Analysis and Technical Escalations in line with SLA's.
* Cisco Voice and desirable Telephony Systems i.e. Avaya and/or Mitel
Technical Qualifications Desirable:
* CCNA
* CCNP
* CCDA
* CCDP
* Juniper
* Mitel or Avaya
