Trainee Big Data Developer

Experis Consulting has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Software Developer to be trained specifically within Big Data whilst working onsite for one of the leading Global brands within the IT industry. This is a great opportunity to join Experis' ever growing consulting division where you will be trained and developed whilst representing Experis on one of our leading Global accounts.

You will need to have exceptional IT problem solving skills, a high level of attention to detail and experience working with data. As a minimum you will have experience of at least one ETL tool, have worked with a number of web development tools and languages including XML, JSON, Java, JSP, web services, JavaScript and HTML/XSLT and have experience of using both SQL and Oracle.

In the initial period you will be working on multiple data driven projects whilst receiving industry recognised training and qualifications. You will utilise your current skills to apply yourself to an existing tool chain while undertaking a bespoke training plan giving you access to experience across a wide range of tools and technologies.

Applicants must be experienced Software Developers with 3 - 5 years' of commercial experience. You must also possess the following attributes:

* Problem Solving: Ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues

* Professional commitment to high quality, and a passion for learning new skills

* Detail oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn new concepts and technologies

* A strong team player with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a geographically disperse working environment

* Experience of one of the following ETL tools: Informatica, Datastage, Abinitio, ODI, Talend, Syncsort etc

* Experience designing and building data warehousing solutions on databases (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, SqlServer).

* Extensive SQL skills.

* Thorough understanding of logical vs physical modelling techniques, including 3rd normal form and dimensional modelling

Desirable

Any of the following skills would be highly desirable:

* Experience of either of the following - Stack Overview; MapReduce and Tuning; HDFS Design, Tuning, Partioning; Hive and Impala; Hortonworks vs Cloudera; Security; Kafka, Rabbit MQ

* Experience using one of the following BI tools - Pentaho, Jaspersoft, Tibco, Business Objects, Microstrategy, Cognos etc)
