My client based in Harrogate are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Consultant to join their fast growing team who are currently the leading provider of enterprise applications.

As a Technical Support Consultant, your primary role will be to carry out product Technical Support via telephone and remote access to customer systems, with occasional site visits.

You will be supporting customers in an effective and customer friendly manner.

The role is based in the Harrogate, but you may be required to visit customer sites to help assist in the resolution of technical problems.

The role:

* Investigate and document technical problems

* To be able to handle customer queries, taking hold of complicated issues, and investigation within your area of expertise.

* To be pro-active in highlighting risks with your manager and co-ordinate any additional resource requirements to assist with investigations

* Comply with Company's information and Security Requirements and all company business

* Update customers through written and verbal communications i.e Email, phone calls and face to face.

* Process all queries in line with company response times and escalation procedures

* procedures

* Occasional 'out of hours' and also potential for weekend work occurring as part of the 24/7 support function

* Responsible for own personal development plan

Skills required:

* Strong experience in the following areas:

* Working in a database-centric, client-server to web-enabled environment

* Working knowledge of Java containers

* Implementation of new systems into existing infrastructures

* Java based applications

* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems

* A good understanding of Windows Database server and SQL Server performance tools

* The ability to write/understand SQL queries.

* A high standard of communication and interpersonal skills

* Experience of working in a Customer Service environment

* Knowledge of TCP/IP and fundamental networking concepts.
