My client, a successful startup business based in the Thames Valley, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This role will hold the responsibility of supporting the design and development process from concept through to release for manufacture.

Requirements of the role include:

* A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant subject. Candidates with no formal qualifications but extensive relevant experience will also be considered.

* At least 5 years Mechanical Design experience.

* Good understanding of Materials Science

* Experience with aluminium die casting and plastic injection moulding

* Sheet metal fabrications experience

* Experience with the design and development of electronics packaging

* Proficiency in 3D CAD - preferably Solidworks

* Prototype modelling experience

* DFM and assembly experience

* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

* FMEA experience

* Understanding of BS 8888 drawing standards

* GD&T and tolerances analysis experience
