SQL Analyst

City of London

£40,000 - £50,000 per annum + benefits

Spring Technology is currently working in partnership with a leading financial services organisation to recruit a SQL Analyst based in the City of London.

The Role:

*Within this position you'll be providing management information and data analysis to the organisations manage and improve services.

*You'll work alongside other teams identifying areas where data analytics could deliver benefit and drive these through to implementation.

*You'll also assist with analysis and preparation of current and future data sets within predefined guidelines and standards for the purposes of processing, tracking and analysis.

The Responsibilities:

*Provision of specialist/professional advice in the field of data and analytics to aid management decisions and provide data analysis services in line with standards to both internal and external customers

*Contribute to company-wide projects using specialist knowledge and/or lead short term projects.

*Carry out detailed assessment and analysis of issues and problems, using specialist knowledge to identify and recommend appropriate solutions

*Develop and/or use the Enterprise Data Warehouse

*Draft reports/deliver briefings and presentations as required

*Provides breadth and depth of experience

*Represent the organisation internally and externally

*Drive forward and lead projects or initiatives

*Provide technical support, guidance and training to more junior staff

*Acts as a mentor, deputises for manager when required

The Requirements:

*Significant experience of SQL Server

*Advanced MS Excel skills - including writing macros in VB or VBA

*Previous experience of working with data related tools and techniques

*Ability to rapidly understand high level concepts

*Ability to reverse-engineer and analyse existing processes

*Significant experience of working in a technical role in a data management environment

*Understanding and experience of data structures, including data dictionary and building data models

*Educated to degree level or equivalent
