Application Delivery Manager- Bracknell- 6 Months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Application Delivery Manager to work in a multi-disciplined agile SCRUM team to develop digital services for our customer. This role will be working alongside our customer developing a crucial part of their Digital Transformation Strategy to support Public Service Reform.

* The individual will be part of a core team that is responsible for Agile Development and delivering the minimal viable requirements as determined by the Customer. The nature of the role means co-creation will be a key part of our success and will therefore there will be an initial requirement to be based on site working alongside the customer in Guernsey as one complete team. In the longer term, more remote working may be possible with travel as required.

* You will have extensive experience of working with Agile, typically SCRUM, but also with identifying alternative delivery methods if they are more applicable. You need to be able to act in a SCRUM Master capacity leading multi-disciplined teams. A good understanding of DevOps is an advantage. Technology will vary by project, but the use of development frameworks will be key in delivering successful outcomes for our customer in a rapidly changing environment.

* You will have a good track record of successful development projects and a strong understanding of the development life cycle.

* You will be prepared to learn and adopt new frameworks and technologies as they becomes available. In addition, you will be able to advise, coach, mentor more junior members of the team.

* Essentially, you will be pro-active, a good communicator, an excellent team-player and prepared to learn quickly and adapt to new requirements, new technologies and new challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Customer relationship management

* Stakeholder Management both internal and external

* Ensure delivery of Minimum Viable Requirements aligned to time, cost, quality

* Monitors the user feedback on the Product and Designs and configures digital platform and micro-service solutions to address defects feedback and incremental change

* Responsible for the issue backlog

* Monitors user journeys and feedback

* Identifies failed or abandoned journeys

* Perform peer reviews

* Collaborate with Chief Architect and other architects/ developers to address issue backlog

* Technical documentation

* Collaborate with the Agile Customer to assign business value to changes.

Mandatory Skills:

* A good understanding of the business criticality, data and business operations

* Good understanding of application support operations

* Good knowledge of Agile practices

* Good understanding of software engineering practices

* Understanding of Agile Estimating and planning

* Good communication skills (team, Product owner, stakeholder)

* Significant experience of Application Development and full solution lifecycle

* Agile Development certifications and experience

* SCRUM certifications and experience

* Extensive Customer experience

* Effective Communication of risk and risk mitigation activities

* Experience of driving continuous improvement

* People Management and development

* Good understanding of Apigee would be an advantage

* Ability to travel and work flexibly as required

Key Accountabilities

* People Management. Manages, motivates and develops a small team of technical specialists, ensuring that the service levels are met.

* Customer Relations. Establishes relationships with customers and a range of managers across the company.

* Risk Management. Establishes and manages risk for the team's technical skill levels and adequate resources to ensure that risks are mitigated and problems resolved, in relation to meeting our commitments.

* Planning & Control. Resource allocation/scheduling to meet the demands of delivering a service, taking into account changing priorities or issues. Uses strengths of team to achieve effective and efficient delivery of service within Service Level Agreement. (SLA)

* Service Delivery. Using strengths of team to achieve effective and efficient delivery of service. Ensure the delivery of services to meet SLAs as a minimum.

* Professional Specialization. Focus and attention is primarily on the specific services which the team is delivering to their current Customer base. Responsible for improving core skills, adopting standard processes and encouraging re-use.

* Tools Mastery. Ensures adherence to agreed strategic tool-set, emphasizing the need for improved deployment and usage.
