Description:

The work of the data load team is pivotal to the entire delivery momentum of the end client project. Whether it be a new source for a new opportunity or a business as usual pipeline for existing products, delivering data into the end client project pipeline, needs to be timely, accurate and will involve a large amount of collaboration with teams across the end client project.

The Senior Data Delivery Engineer works within the data load team and will take ownership of multiple data projects. They will support the end client project by providing timely and accurate development and management of data transform routines, responding to data related questions and performing associated investigations as required

Role responsibilities:

* Assess new data sources to ensure they meet minimum standards for ingestion into the end client data solution

* Produce accurate design documentation, including source to target mapping

* Accurately develop data transformation routines adhering to standards as defined within the data solution design

* Respond to ad-hoc queries, and undertake investigation as required, in relation to the data solution and data held within it

* Adhere to development standards and associated practices such as change control and version management

* Act as a mentor for junior members of the team, ensuring that DI routines adhere to best practice standards, accurately meet business requirements and are free of bugs

* Actively contribute to the ongoing development of the data solution design, local best practices and design patterns

* Work with the Data team to understand data ingestion and data manipulation requirements

* Work with the client to seek clarity where requirements are ambiguous or require further clarification

* Work collaboratively with the wider project team as required

Essential skills

* In-depth understanding of data integration best practice

* Expert knowledge of at least one ETL tool

* Knowledge of at least one common database platform

* Proficiency in SQL DDL and DML

* Knowledge of SAS BASE and SAS Macro programming

* Knowledge of SAS Data Integration Studio development techniques

* Knowledge of database security mechanisms

The ideal candidate will hold active SC clearance. We will also consider candidates who are eligible for SC clearance but the candidate must be willing to wait for clearance to come through if successful, this can take around 7 weeks.
