I'm on the lookout for a Senior Database Engineer to join a key client of mine, who is a global player in the enterprise cloud industry, and compete with the biggest technology brands in the world.

They are looking for a talented Senior Database Engineer to join their engineering HQ based in the heart of Dublin City Centre.

This is a great opportunity as a Senior Database Engineer to join a small dynamic team, working with leading edge technologies to deliver advanced, market leading cloud computing solutions.

This role will involve:

* Help to manage the cloud development and test lab environments

* Deploy new cloud software releases to production environments

* Automate build out of the global cloud environment

* Collaborate closely with the global DB ops and cloud operations teams for our market leading enterprise cloud product.

As a Senior Database Engineer you will be responsible for:

* Take responsibility for the design, architecture, build and maintenance of high quality database infrastructure for cloud computing

* Work closely within the R&D team in designing additions to the cloud database systems

* Take ownership of the R&D lab database infrastructure

* Work closely with the Operations team to ensure that all production databases are highly available, highly performing, scalable and secure

* Roll out new versions of database infrastructure to production, including new replication configuration

What skills is required:

* 7-10 years' experience supporting complex database systems

* Very strong MySQL skills - MySQL 5.5+, Oracle OR SQL

* MySQL certification is a big advantage

* Experience with highly available database clusters

* Experience designing relational database schema

* Experience as a DBA in a highly available environment, improving database performance through tuning and optimisation
