Security Specialist - Cryptography/Blockchain/Security Research - UK Based, Remote WorkingAn Information Security Consultancy are expanding their research team and looking for individuals with a deep interest in cyber security research.
You will research the domain problems in these areas, creating new cyber solutions and tools for the wider team. You will need to be creative, assertive combined with strong technical skills
We're looking for someone who can take on some of our vulnerability research and specialised penetration testing. The role will be a 50/50 mix of commercial work as well as internal research.
The main skill we are looking for is cryptography - this is needed for specific client engagements where a system has been developed and uses cryptography i.e. blockchain.
We are not looking for an expert but somebody has a good understanding of:Encryption algorithms in common use, and be familiar with how at least some of them work internally.Cipher modes, digital signature algorithms, secure hash functions, key exchange protocols etc.What makes certain algorithms suitable for certain uses.Good awareness of the types of weakness which can exist in cryptographic systems, and how they can be exploited.
