Candidate must be a resident in the UK for last 5 years and not travelled outside of the UK for longer than 1 month in duration within the last 5 years

Clearance required- Active SC required, will need to be either Home Office SC or Other Government Department SC that can be transferred

Job Spec-
Responsibilities
1.Liaise with the client lead architect to agree a scope of work and regularly report on progress to both the end client.
2.Actively manage change to scope of work priorities and deliverables agreeing any change with the end client.
3.Liaise with a wide set of end client stakeholders to prioritise both architectural and project delivery
4.Manage a team of architects to deliver against the scope of work to:
i.Design large and complex systems through effective collaboration with business users and technology colleagues
ii.Translate existing technology components into recommended AWS based equivalents based on technical, support and commercial considerations
iii.Develop transitional roadmaps to support migration from on-premise to AWS based solutions
iv.Create and contribute to low-level designs describing the topology of AWS components including security and networking
v.Provide technical guidance to support technical spikes and proof of concepts using Amazon based services
vi.Translates complex multi system business requirements into workable solutions in line with organisation standards
vii.Support the development and continuous improvement of organisation information services
viii.Produce detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed design for implementation.
ix.Assists with the preparation of technical plans to ensure appropriate technical resources are available.
x.Provides advice on technical aspects of systems development and integration and ensures compliance with the necessary strategies
xi.Ensures the continuous development of the Solution Design function by mentoring and coaching solution designers, and ensuring that the solution design approaches, methodologies and best practice are maintained and aligned with industry best practice
Skills & Experience
I)Senior stakeholder management and the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, bring together people and views to inform decision making, and be willing to support work that isn't part of your core role
II)Experience of leading a team of architects
III)Experience in deploying large scale applications meeting security and performance criteria
IV)Solutions architecture skills that demonstrate experience of working with big data and analytics systems, deployed into AWS
V)Preferably, demonstrable relevant domain experience (data, security, enterprise or solutions architecture) of deploying solutions in AWS, particularly with migration from on-premise solutions to AWS.
VI)Preferably experience in mpp databases such as Greenplum and Redshift
VII)Ability to delve into AWS detail as required liaising with infrastructure and network engineers as appropriate
VIII)Experience of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment using tools such as GitHub, Kubernetes and Drone
IX)Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people
X)Experience of the government's digital and technology transformation agenda.
XI)Expertise in the development of architectures based on common processes and technical components
XII)Ability to plot and explain the end-to-end user journey of a service, including multiple online and offline touch points a user might interact with.
XIII)Security architecture skills to demonstrate evidence of security design in government OFFICIAL classified systems holding sensitive data
