Tester / 7 month contract / Newcastle / Market Rate

Spring Technology are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our leading clients.

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne the client are looking for an experienced Tester on an initial 7 month contract.

You will collaborate with Service/Product Managers & business analysts to ensure that user needs for new digital services are fully understood and that user stories contain effective, actionable acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities include

*Identifying test cases that are suitable for automation and working with the delivery lead, developers and architects to define the approach to automated testing.

*Writing automated acceptance tests that can be integrated into the software build process and organising and performing manual tests when automated approaches are not possible.

Deliverables include:

System Test Plan, System Test Scripts, Integration Test Plan, Integration Test Scripts, Performance Test Plan, Performance Test Scripts

Technical Knowledge

*Good demonstrable hands on experience in Cucumber/selenium/Java

*Experience in operating system commands and creation of shell scripts

*Good knowledge of Continuous integration and tools (GIT/Jenkins) for code promotion and deployment

*Experience of SQL queries and database interrogation

*Experience of API testing using rest assured

*Exposure to performance testing using JMeter
