Job Title: Electronics Test Technician Location: Ashford, Kent QinetiQ Target Systems (QTS) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of QinetiQ Group PLC specialising in the design and manufacture of a range of state of the art Unmanned Aerial and Surface Target systems including the world leading Banshee target. QTS targets are used to enable realistic weapons test and evaluation and operator training in over 40 countries worldwide with QTS providing a complete managed service in over 15 of these countries. Job description/Person specification We are currently seeking to recruit an Electronics Test Technician who would be responsible for building and testing electronics assemblies in accordance with procedures. The role will include: * Assembling production electronic circuit boards (PCB's) * Building wiring harnesses * Assembling electrical / mechanical assemblies * Using hand tools and pillar drills for basic light metal work * Assembling prototype electronic, mechanical and wiring assemblies Required skills: * Experience in industry is preferred for this position * Able to demonstrate a good understanding of circuit schematics and general electronic principles * Proficient in the use of laboratory electronics test and measurement equipment * Proficient in the use of hand soldering equipment and mechanical assembly * Good level of competency using Microsoft Word/Excel is essential It would be desirable to have: * Experience of working in a Lean manufacturing background * Radio frequency (RF) experience * Minimum of ONC (BTEC national level 3), HNC or equivalent in Electronic / Electrical Engineering or similar qualification dependent on experience * Trained to IPC-610 We look for outstanding technical people, creative and analytical thinkers, decisions makers, influencers and excellent communicators.
