Networking & Security Consultant - Up To £75,000 + Benefits - Home Based with Travel To Site - Immediate Start
The Networking and Security Consultant will provide pre-sales support and subsequent deployment expertise for projects which deliver resilient and secure network infrastructures within customer estates, as well as collaborating with specialists in other technology stacks to construct a comprehensive security portfolio and deployment strategies to provide to customers.
Project delivery sees the consultant involved from the pre-sales stage through to implementation, with the deployment either being carried out by the consultant or by another engineer under the governance of the consultant. The consultant will be expected to produce customer-facing high-level designs, customer-presentable low-level designs (targeted for deployment engineers), implement technology in their core skill area, drive changes to standard implementation methodology, provide technical expertise and engineering support to a portfolio of contracted services or project customers.
Work on the security portfolio will include input into product selection/evaluation/adoption and deployment methods, as well as identifying gaps in the portfolio and will not be limited to switching/routing or perimeter firewall devices. Other areas may include (but will not be limited to) e-mail security, web application firewalls, endpoint protection.
You will be familiar and have some experience of the following:
Network Switching and Routing:
* Cisco (ISR, Catalyst, Nexus)
Firewalls and Security:
* Palo Alto (Panorama and PA-/VM- series)
* Juniper (SRX)
* Cisco (ASA)
Wireless Networking:
* Cisco Meraki
Your core strengths and technical experience should be in Networking & Security but an understanding of the following will be significantly advantageous:
* Microsoft stack (Windows Server, SQL, Active Directory, Exchange etc.)
* Storage (Dell EqualLogic / NetApp)
* VDI (Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop or Microsoft RDS)
* Virtualisation (VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V)
* Microsoft Cloud (O365/Azure)
