Agile Delivery Services - Summary of the work
 Lead an agile and digital transformation by providing coaching, mentoring, and training.Coach a team adopting agile working practices for pilot projects with a view to rolling out across the whole organisation to deliver digital services.To develop at least three permanent members of staff to become competent Agile Coaches.Latest start date February 2019

What the specialist will work on
   
The high-level requirements for the agile delivery coach are as follows:
 Support agile delivery to increase efficiency of product portfolio outcomes and cross-programme consistencyImprove quality and consistency in planning, reporting, forecasting and agile ways of working across multiple programmes and teamsAdvise improvements and support commercial and finance processes (programme side)Build internal capability and mentor teams to improve agile delivery and develop agile cultureSkills and knowledge  
Facilitation and coaching of staff in a broad range of Agile workshops within teams and programmes of workCustomised Agile training and workshops for staff sitting outside of Agile development teamsTeam level Scrum coaching to evolve team ways of working incorporating Scrum principles, values and practicesTeam level Kanban coaching to evolve team ways of working incorporating Lean and Kanban principles and philosophiesStrategy for the implementation of metrics at organisational, programme and team levels, including baselining and measurement of transformation progressEvolved a streamlined process that supports and optimised the flow of work through the organisation from idea to deliveryBe available onsite during all core business hoursAssisted in implementing Agile testing approaches and technology within team and programme settings, including the use of automation for regression testingApplied Agile engineering and DevOps techniques within project contexts including discovery of current practices and creating a staged plan to evolve towards better ways of workingIncorporated Business Analysis into Agile ways of workingCoached Product Owners/Managers and related stakeholders to successfully shape products/maximise value by application of Agile techniques for Product Strategy, Visioning, Story/User Journey Mapping, User and Customer feedback loops, Backlog ManagementHelped build a Scrum Master community through community coaching sessions and interactive coaching support of individual Scrum Masters working with teams and workshop facilitationAssisted and evolved the contribution of the programme management function into the Agile delivery approachOther skills and knowledge (non essential)
 
Multi-team programme coaching to successfully incorporate suitable scaling patternsCoached and supported leaders to incorporate Agile and Lean concepts into organisational design, processes, policies and staff leadershipCoached and articulated the benefits of Continuous Integration, Deployment and Delivery. Discovery of current practices and ability to create and implement a staged plan to move towards Continuous DeliveryDemonstrable skills in coaching and implementing large multi-team Agile programmes of workUse of VSTS to create, manage and keep up-to-date a Product Backlog including the use of Sprints, reporting and capacity planningUse of Jira to create, manage and keep up-to-date a Product Backlog including the use of boards, Sprints, time tracking and reportingknowledge of the Microsoft Technology including GIT (pull requests) and work items association build definition, creation and maintenanceKnowledge and Microsoft Visual Studio Team System, (VSTS) release definitions, Azure deployment and deployment slotsKnowledge in implementing and running a gated continuous delivery pipeline on AzureStrong collaboration and outward facing communication with the ability to work across multiple teams on different parts of a project. Delivery not carried out by siloed teamsImplementation of Portfolio Kanban boards and processes in both physical and electronic formImplementation and automation where possible of Agile metrics using VSTS, Jira and additional toolsKnowledge of utilising cloud based storage and utilities such as Azure and AWS, their setup and maintenanceGood Disaster Recovery practices including the ability for discovery of current practices and technical coaching of it's implementation
