Contract Senior Software Developer - C#, SQL | £350 - £500 per day

We are a leading producer of form and data related applications for the horse racing industry. With our head office based in Sydney, Australia, we are expanding our UK presence with a view to trading the global markets.

Position Summary:

Working as part of a global team consisting of highly-experienced Software Specialists and Mathematicians, you will be responsible for building trading systems, API’s and Databases, whilst ensuring that the presented data is cleansed and of the highest quality.

Senior Software Developer Key accountabilities:

+ To work across the full Software Development lifecycle, from requirements analysis, design, build, test and implementation of a number of application development projects using Microsoft .Net & Microsoft SQL technologies.

+ Work closely with the Mathematics team in the design and build of Databases using MS SQL Server technologies

+ Attend weekly meetings with the organisational management, IT and Mathematics division to discuss process improvements and to overcome any issues being faced by the IT Development division

+ Participate in daily stand-ups and work within an Agile methodology environment

+ Provide out of hours support when required on a rostered basis to ensure that systems are live.

Senior Software Developer Key candidate requirements:

+ 10 - 15 years of commercial software development experience

+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft C# .NET & SQL Server

+ Experience using modern web technologies.

+ Experience in requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, test and implementation of high-quality software solutions

+ Strong exposure to back-end technologies

+ The ability to work with large amounts of complex data obtained from numerous sources

+ Experience or an interest in Multi-threading - highly desirable

+ Strong problem solving and communication skills with desire to remain hands-on

+ A strong academic background in applied mathematics is essential
