(Global Networking Vendor) - Technical Support Engineer; Reading,Due to expansion, multiple opportunities have arisen for Technical Support Engineers to join a World Leading Global Networking, SDN and Wireless Vendor.
The successful candidate will have a strong all round knowledge of Networking Technologies, outstanding customer service skills and a very strong desire to learn and develop themselves technically.
Key Responsibilities:To be the initial point of contact for customers wishing to log technical issues via phone, email and web.The ability to analyse, configure and troubleshoot large complex networks with mix media and protocols.Effectively utilizing lab set ups to duplicate and resolve customer problems.To analyse and evaluate network traces with the corresponding protocols and operating systems.Required Technical Skills:A good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing.A background of working within a networking related role.General knowledge of networking protocolsExamples include: xSTP (STP, RSTP, or MSTP), IGMP, PIM, LACP, SLPP, IS-IS, SPBM, OSPF, MPLS, VRRP and BGP3 years ' experience working directly with customers in any industry2 or more years work experience supporting multi-layer networkDesirable SkillsCisco CCNA Routing and Switching level of accreditation or equivalent proven track record.CCNP Routing and Switching qualification or equivalent.Exposure to operating Network Management systems and SNMP based monitoring systems.This is an excellent opportunity to join a GLOBAL NETWORKING VENDOR who offers you excellent opportunities to further your career within their organisation and exposure to all the latest technologies.
