Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Spring Boot Developer for an initial 6 month contract based in Edinburgh on a rate of c.£375-425/day (outside of IR35).

Responsibilities:

* Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices

* Run unit tests and end-to end tests

* Refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs

* Create and maintain software documentation

* Be responsible for maintaining the existing application and implementing changes in line with business needs

* Cooperate with colleagues from the wider organization, business analysts, developers and testers to ensure changes across multiple systems are seamlessly progressed

* Diagnose and fix problems with the application in cooperation with System Support and Test Teams

Requirements:

* Proven working experience in front-end development for significant projects

* Familiarity with the Digital First Standards

* Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of Spring Boot Framework, including common supporting frameworks such as Thymeleaf, webflow and JPA

* A solid understanding of web application security, session management, and best development practices

* Experience with test-driven design

* Adequate knowledge of Oracle relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development

* Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills

* Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines

* Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
