2nd Line Network Engineer

One of our UK wide clients is seeking a 2nd Line Network Engineer to join their expanding team in Leeds. The main function of this role is to provide a technical response and/or fix to incidents, changes and service requests. You will perform 2nd line diagnostics to resolve or identify the correct escalation path for the issue.

This role operates on a 24x7x365 rota, and so all candidates must be able to work to a shift pattern.

2nd Line Network Engineer duties include, but not limited to:

*Providing 2nd line support for customer technical services

*Monitor incidents, changes and service requests within the agreed service hours, meeting the agreed service levels

*Carry out proactive maintenance to maximise the availability - including patching, configuring backups and capacity management

*Actively participate in Change Management processes, creating and updating change requests where appropriate

*Performing technical diagnostics and administration across some/all technical areas which may include: Cisco R&S, Cisco Routers (887,2921,1801), ASR Management tools, Juniper, Cisco Firewalls, F5 Configuration, Fault Finding

*Providing Broadband Support including Traffic Shaping at a 2nd line level

As a 2nd Line Network Engineer, you will be required to possess:

*Experience with configuring, troubleshooting and fault finding on:

oCisco Routing and Switching Platforms (ISR, ASR, Catalyst, Nexus)

oCisco Security Platforms - including firewall experience

oJuniper Security Platforms - including firewall experience

oBroadband Support - including traffic shaping

*CCNA

*JNCIA

*Ability to work to an ITIL standard and ,maintain documentation

*Knowledge of Cisco Management tools, Juniper Firewalls and F5 Configuration and fault finding is desirable

This role operates on a 24x7x365 rota, and so all candidates must be able to work to a shift pattern. You will receive a 20% uplift on annual salary when undertaking the overnight Night Shift Cover.
