Senior Network Engineer Bristol

£60,000 to £75,000 p.a. + benefits

Great opportunity for experienced Network Engineer with market leading global solutions and services business in Bristol

The Role

As Senior Network Engineer you will be responsible for a complex network ( LAN & WAN ), with multiple technology challenges / need for transformation. You will have accountability for the uptime of the service, security, strategy, support and cost. Focused on the delivery of highly secure and resilient services to internal / external customers your responsibilities will include:

* developing / managing Network Operating Centre ( NOC ) (on shore / offshore staffing )

* delivering a SaaS service for customers & trouble shooting as required

* leveraging networking technologies e.g. virtualisation & software defined networking ( SDN )

* developing methodologies for incident management based on metrics-based KPIs

* implementing road maps to meet operations / infrastructure business goals & metrics

* supporting large-scale deployments for consumer facing / B2B network interactions

* maintaining data, voice or video network hardware and systems

* providing technical support / leadership for network problem escalation and resolution

Our client is a Bristol based market leading provider of business services, solutions and consultancy to major blue chip clients.

The Person

As Senior Network Engineer you will be qualified ( CCNP / CCDP ) with extensive experience as a LAN / WAN engineer in a large IT office environment. With experience in a configuration, administration & troubleshooting environment, familiar with LAN switches, routers and firewalls you will also have:

* knowledge of Cisco Routing / Switching, and F5 / SolarWinds / Juniper / VMWare / VoIP

* experience designing, deploying & configuring Telephony (VoIP)

* experience in Management / high level technical escalation

* ability to lead a team / strong communicator / calm & confident under pressure

* solution focused / flexible approach to problem solving

This role may require occasional on-call work and occasional weekend or shift work
