Electrical, Controls Instrumentation & Programme Field Engineer

This position will provide support to the Electrical, Instrumentation and Software team, working with Biogas upgrading products such as: Gas Compressor Systems, Pressurized vessels and towers, Level and Pressure controls, Flow controls, Gas Chromatographs, Gas analyzers and liquid analytical products.

* Provide on-site demand field service support for our Biogas upgrading plants and customers in explosive and non-explosive atmospheres

* Support in the start-up and commissioning for all products as required by customers

* Support the operations team with technical telephone and field support

* Troubleshooting related to: Biogas process issues, low voltage electrical hardware and control system installation and mechanical failures on Biogas applications and sophisticated control circuits

* Quality assurance on new equipment including testing new hardware and debugging new software including PLC program, HMI and industrial automation controls and equipment. i.e. VSDs, Soft Starters, Motors and Motor Controls and general electrical equipment

* Perform FATs and SATs to new plants and installations

* Provide telephone customer support on Measurement and Analytical products

* In-house and factory repairs on measure and analyze products

* Interfacing with internal and external customers

* Generating detailed customer service reports and documentation to meet customer expectations

* Provide Training to customers

* Site rotation work may be occasionally required

* Participate in 24hr on call rotation

* Be able to travel extensively within the UK and internationally.

* Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance as per the companies SOP's

* Perform risk assessments and mitigation

* Provide input on process documentation and operating instructions

Follow all Company policies and procedures

Have good understanding of Siemens Automation Software and Hardware. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (S7-300, S7-1500) and HMI; e.g. Simatic Manager, TIA portal.

Ability to read and understand the PLC control logic in programming environment i.e. Ladder logic, Function Blocks, Structure Text, SFC/Graph.

Ability to read and understand the Low Voltage (up to 600V AC/ 50-60 HZ) Electrical diagrams and drawings.

Ability to read and understand the Control system drawings

Ability to read and understand the process and instrumentation diagrams.

Ability to work with and understand the PLC networking system.

Ability to work with communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Fieldbus, Modbus.

Familiar and good understanding of Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) from different manufacturers.

Strong troubleshooting skills and decision making capabilities

Familiar with Atex and working in explosive atmospheres

Able to exhibit professionalism and calm in difficult and stressful situations

Adaptable and flexible in the working environment with the ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere

Must be able to distinguish colors

Valid driver's license, safe driving record and willing to travel extensively

Engineering Degree or equivalent in a related field

Electrical (17th Edition)

Level 4 Literacy and Numeracy

Good working knowledge of Google G Suite or Microsoft Windows software - Office Suite with particular emphasis on Excel.

Own relevant engineering experience within either CHP, Biogas, Anaerobic Digestion, Gas Engines, Diesel Engines, Generators, Power Generation, Waste to Energy, Landfill Gas.

5 years or more of previous electrical instrumentation industry experience.

Understanding of Health, Safety and Environment legislation and requirements.
