Web Developer

Kontrolit is expanding. We’re about to move into a new office space, and we need a Web Developer to join our talented team of designers, developers, and digital marketing experts.

Who are we?

We are a web design, development and digital marketing company based in Yeovil, Somerset. We’re true veterans of the ‘world wide web’ as one of the pioneers of the Dot-Com revolution, working with businesses to help them take advantage of the opportunities being online can bring since 1998. At the centre of all our sophisticated and scalable websites is our bespoke, modular CMS - ‘Kit’ - putting our customers firmly in the driving seat, with the safety net of our expertise consistently in the background.

What you’ll be doing:

We’ll be looking to you to utilise your working knowledge in ASP.NET/PHP, MVC, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure that we’re delivering the most appropriate web solutions to our customers and, from having worked in similar roles previously, you’ll understand the importance of sticking to timeframes and to budget.

You’ll be expected to work with the wider team to provide detailed specifications for our bespoke client projects, and you’ll be on hand to provide after-sales support when our clients need you.

Key to your success will be proactively staying on top of new technologies, trends and legal requirements. We pride ourselves on keeping our team up-to-date with their Google certifications to keep our clients at the top of the search engines, and our developers are regularly combing industry sites to stay a step ahead of the competition.

What you’ll know

Essential Concepts: APIs/Web Services - SOAP/REST, Object Oriented Programming, MVC, Relational Databases.

Useful Concepts: ORM

Essential Skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL.

Useful Skills: Bootstrap, LESS/Sass, Visual Studio, SQL, Server Management Studio, .NET, C#, ASP.NET, PHP (Symfony).

Bonus Skills: GIT/TFS, Babel, Node/NPM, Grunt/Gulp/Webpack, Vue/React/Angular, NHibernate/Entity Framework/Eloquent.

We can offer a salary of £30K-£40K (dependent on experience). As a team we’re pretty relaxed - we work hard, but we have fun.
