Job Description

We are looking for a Test Engineer (Automation) to join a team challenged with modernising and transforming applications and services for customer programmes in the UK.

The successful candidate will report to the Test Manager and work within the business to lead the test activity across a number of programme work streams including Supply Chain, Engineering Through-Life Support, Business Intelligence/Information Exploitation and Data Analytics.

Automation Test Engineer role - Building on the existing automation framework and writing automation scripts for the various applications in SCIS portfolio.

Responsibilities:

                     Performing test automation, planning and reporting.

                     Defining automated acceptance tests that prove that the functionality required.

                     Writing test case, logging defects and test reports.

                    Defining and maintaining the automation tests for applications as directed by the test lead.

                     Liaising with programme team to write test cases and discuss defects.

                     Perform automated and manual test execution.

                     Report risks and issues to the test lead and the test manager

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

                     Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a business discipline or closely related field

                     Experience of testing (test case development, test planning etc.)

                     Effective written and verbal communication skills

                     Hands-on experience in automation testing within API and web applications

                     Experience of the following tools:

                     HP Quality Centre or ALM

                     Eclipse IDE

                     Selenium

                     SOAP UI

                     Cucumber

Desirable Experience:

                     Previous or current experience of working with MoD supply chain applications

                     Testing certification from the BCS (e.g. ISTQB-BCS Certified Tester Intermediate Level) or other equivalent institute

                     Experience of the following tools:

                     HP Sprinter

                     IBM Rational DOORS

                     Sparx Enterprise Architect
