Cloud/Systems Architect

Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Cloud/Systems Architect for an initial 9 month contract on a rate of c.£600-700/day (inside of IR35). This role is mainly remote based with some travel to Glasgow (c.2 days/month).

Responsibilities:

* Cloud Solution Architecture - to provide advice to the development team on all aspects of the design and development of the new system (and service).

* Digital Ecosystem Alignment - establish how the new Asset Performance Management System (APMS) should align with the organisation's Digital Ecosystem, including re-use of capabilities and services where appropriate.

* Service Patterns - identify relevant service patterns (including those already employed for adjacent systems and services) that might be exploited in the development of the APMS.

* Service Architecture - help in determining a suitable architecture for the APMS service, including advice on the appropriate multi-tier/n-tier architecture (or equivalent).

* Open Standards - advice on the selection of any open standards and/or common government platforms which might be appropriate to the new APMS.

* Choice of Technology - advice on choice of technology, and particularly on the use of Microsoft Azure (the preferred cloud hosting platform for the new APMS system.)

* Development Process - advice on approaches and methods to be employed by the development team in the development of the new APMS service. This shall include advice on the appropriate testing regime.

* Deployment Process - advice on the deployment of the new system, including means of establishing business acceptance.

* Security - advice on implementing appropriate security measures, including issues such as authentication, legal responsibilities, privacy issues, etc.

Requirements:

* Systems / Cloud Architect with experience of delivering cloud-based services.

* Experience of delivering projects using Agile approaches.

* Strong written, presentation and oral communication skills using plain English.

* Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

* Ability to influence at all levels within the organisation and comfortable to brief senior management.

* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
