Electronics Design Engineer | 12 months + | Antwerp, Belgium

We are looking for two additional Contract Electronics Design Engineers who will be part of a growing expert design team developing electronic units for space instruments (for the International Space Station) or for space equipment (for various missions). Experience with detailed electronic design (including analogue, digital, power, high-speed) for safety-critical or rad-hard applications is an obvious asset. A strong and practical knowledge of layout, production and testing techniques is a strong advantage. Previous hands-on experience with electronic design verification and validation is a plus.

Location: Antwerp, Belgium Rate: EUR75 to EUR85 per hour Length: 12 months + Start Date: 7th January

Candidate skills and experience:

* Translating challenging board level requirements into an electronic circuit

* Performing the necessary simulations to prove the correctness of the electronic circuit

* Interact with thermal, structural and reliability engineers

* Documentation of the electronic circuit and its accompanying analysis

* Follow-up and review of PCB layout

* Preparing the board level test procedure

* Performing detailed design verification

* Supporting the system level validation

* Performing equipment level design feasibility studies

The execution of typical tasks for an equipment electronic design & test engineer consists of the following tasks:

- Ability to draft an electronic schematic starting from PCB requirements and an early conceptual design

- Ability to understand the function from an existing electronic schematic (ideally using OrCAD)

- Ability to perform component selection

- Ability to perform electrical simulations

- Ability to define the layout rules for the design

- Ability to review the layout of the design

- Ability to prepare manufacturing files for the PCB

- Ability to provide inputs to the EGSE definition

- Ability to always ensure correct ESD behaviour (proper grounding of equipment and person)

- Ability to program/control/connect test equipment:

- Ability to fully document the test

- Ability to communicate the test progress to the various stakeholders
