The Role:

As a Design Engineer, you’ll support the development of our client’s LED lighting products.

Joining a small, close-knit Engineering Team, your duties will involve:

- The hands-on mechanical and electrical/electronic design of LED lighting products

- LED optical system design, including custom LED optics

- LED thermal system design, including custom LED cooling solutions

- Working to timescales and designing to cost

- Electronics design, PCB design and prototyping

- Full product lifecycle design, from concept though to volume manufacture

- Analysis of customer products and report writing for customers

- Enhancing your LED component and LED industry knowledge

About You:

To be considered, you’ll need:

- Practical experience of manufacturing electronic products

- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in 3D CAD software

- The ability to develop a strong understanding of our client’s technical products

- An enthusiastic approach

- The ability to work well under pressure

Our client is also eager to hear from junior engineers looking to take their next step up.

A degree level qualification in an engineering or applied science discipline (or equivalent) would be beneficial to your application.

Other companies may call this role Design Engineer, LED Design Engineer, Electronic Manufacturing Engineer, Product Development Engineer or Product Design Engineer.

Those with experience as a Mechanical Design Technician, Electrical Design Technician or NPD Engineer are also encouraged to apply.
