PHP Developer - Manchester - up to £40,000
The company:
One of the North West's leading university's are undergoing a wide range of complex business and IT change to their student management systems to ensure they remain one of the prominent UK universities and offer their students the best possible experience during their time with them.
Your Role:
You will be expected to help design developer and deliver software that will impact on users across the university both students and support staff. This role will require you to document the solutions and help mentor junior members in the team. Your team is part of development team that is working closely with the university to help improve services and has the backing for all levels of the university to deliver the best solutions.
Essential:
* Significant development experience of PHP and MySQL
* Commercial knowledge with a commercial MVC framework - Laravel, Zend, Symfony etc
* Knowledge of TDD/test-driven development
* Strong software design and architecture skills
* Experience with SQL Server, ORM Frameworks and database design
* A good understanding of HTML, Bootstrap, CSS
* Distributed source control - Git, Tfs or similar

The benefits package for this role is very attractive and offers 35 days holiday, plus 8 Bank holidays and the university closes between Christmas and New year. The pension on offer is in line with Grater Manchester pension fund. This will be a fixed term contract running up to February 2020.
