Technical Consultant - MS Gold Partner

Nigel Frank International are working with a highly recognised MS Gold Partner in the West Midlands, close to the Wolverhampton area, who is seeking a motivated and determined Technical Consultant to join their team. The role is comprised of providing support, maintenance and guidance for their clients' IT infrastructure and systems; on premise, through their cloud services or 3rd party hosts.

Your role as a Technical Consultant will be quite diverse, ranging from on-site client support on a scheduled/ad-hoc basis, to over-the-phone technical support to customers. Firstly, being part of the Technical Support desk, you will be communicating directly with customers, gathering information about issues they're facing, logging calls, responding inside the agreed SLA times, and overall getting to know how the team works as you become an integral part of it. In terms of consulting, you will be meeting clients on-site and using your expertise to aid them, so having a clean driving license and your own car is essential.

As a part of the Applications and Development teams as well, you will use your technical expertise on the numerous support services offered to the customers. You will additionally be supporting the internal systems and cloud services as well. As part of your cloud support duties, you will be joining the out-hours-support team, which has a 24-hour availability time frame for a week at a time, rotating every 5 weeks with your teammates. This is a call-when-needed duty, not a manned helpdesk requirement and it will usually involve a bit of your time during the afternoon.

The company's diverse and dynamic environment is focused on promoting self-development, both in terms of widening/bettering one's skillset, and in terms of career development. They are invested in organically growing their consultants into leadership roles/managerial roles, thus you will have plenty of opportunities to grow. Moreover, there is an early finish/late start scheme available on rotation.

If you're comfortable with client communication, grasping technical issues quickly, and tackling problems efficiently, then this role suits you to a 'T'.

Your experience/knowledge:

* SQL Server Management

* Office 365 experience

* General networking - Remote desktop access, router/firewall troubleshooting and configuration, VPN management, TCP/IP, Switches - VLANs, Stacking, Advanced routing, Wi-Fi, Ubiquiti, Patch Management

* Virtualisation - Hyper-V

* Windows Desktop: Win7/Win8/Win10

Additionally:

- It is highly advantageous if you have passed either of these two Microsoft Exams:

* 70-346 Managing Office 365 Identities and Requirements
