Cloud Engineer, Bradford, Contract

I have an exciting opportunity, I am currently working with a recognised client that is based in Leeds and is currently recruiting for an experienced Cloud Engineer with DevOps experience (AWS in particular) to join their team in West Yorkshire. The chosen candidate will work to create new and improved platforms, and the products that will run on them. You will be expected to be a subject matter expert in Cloud and DevOps - a hands-on engineer and technical authority.

The role will include:

* Building, securing, and maintaining Cloud infrastructure and environments

* Working with Architects and Development team on the design, planning and implementation of development projects

* Building and maintaining CI pipelines

* Active monitoring of cloud environments

* Operational support (potentially including some on-call)

* Participating in the wider developer community, building relationships and identifying best practices that we can adopt

* Cost/value optimisation

Essential Skills

* Building AWS Cloud infrastructure

* Automation of cloud configuration (infrastructure as code)

* DevOps experience including SRE

Desired Skills

Knowledge of the following would be an advantage:

* Cloudformation

* Terraform

* Ansible

* Gradle

* Jenkins

* Compliance (e.g. GDPR, PCI DSS)
