Our tech-led world needs a leader

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognised as a provider of a world-class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities. However, modern policing within the nuclear industry is evolving, with cloud-based IT becoming a vital part of our future. As Head of IT, you’ll take on this technically and commercially challenging role. And you’ll act as a key enabler of change within our unique police force.

Responsible for managing the IT team, it’ll be your role to deliver excellent, up-to-date IT services that help keep nuclear sites and materials safe. In fact, you’ll shape our new cloud-based service, and manage the IT team. You’ll also work with people from a range of areas, including technical staff, suppliers and stakeholders, defining the best approach to service design. That way, you’ll achieve what’s best for teams, and meet business and user objectives. As a result, it’s vital you’re commercially aware, technically literate and able to engage with people with varying levels of technical knowledge. After all, IT services are a crucial tool everyone uses.

Juggling all these elements is no easy task. So, we’ll need someone with a deep understanding of industry-standard security issues and processes. You’ll also have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area, as well as PRINCE2 and IRIL foundation level. And with experience of leading a similar transition - along with sound budget scoping skills - you’ll know exactly how to deliver our business goals.
