Lead Scrum Master

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Scrum Master to join Direct Line Group, a market leading insurer based in Bromley. We're just 15 mins from Victoria!

Our Agile Transformation is being led by our Application Development and Maintenance function which sits in our Technology Services department. We are responsible for engineering code on behalf of DLG's projects and programmes, as well as testing the code to ensure quality before it goes live and maintenance of the code once it is in Production. Our teams are transitioning to Agile working practises and we have a community of Agile advocates who are supporting the teams on this journey.

We need Scrum Masters to join our fun and friendly team to work on our projects and changes that have adopted Agile and look after our scrum teams. These teams may be working for our business to deliver new systems or incrementally changing the applications to evolve our business to keep it successful in the market. Recent successful deliveries have included introducing a new modern platform for our commercial business portfolio and working with our business teams to radically improve our change process to make it smoother and more efficient

Some key focuses will be;

Guiding and educating the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values

Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.

Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.

Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.

Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.

Essential Skills

Hands on experience of Agile practises

Scrum Master Certification

Ability to lead and manage a team using a servant leader style

Excellent facilitation and communication skills (people person)

Desirable Skills

Track record of delivering successful projects

SAFe Consultant qualification

This position may be suited for someone who has worked within the following roles: Application Owner, Support, Dev Ops Engineer, Senior Project Manager, SAFe consultant
