This role is a fantastic opportunity for a Platform Engineer (Web/Applications Server Support specialism) to work for a FTSE 250 company.
What you'll be doing:
* Monitoring Cloud and existing data centre applications and the underlying infrastructure components.
* Pro-actively taking preventative actions where issues are identified.
* Developing automation to minimise manual operational activities.
* Leading incident investigations, determining root cause and putting in place systems, controls to minimise likelihood of future incidents.
* Supporting development teams, joining squads in an agile, DevOps environment.
* Patching server and application software as needed to maintain support and comply with security requirements.
* Installing and configuring software platforms for development and production.
* Providing 24x7 support for the platform on a team rota basis.
Essential:
* AWS experience across multiple services e.g. EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Cloudwatch
* Good understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems
* Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Powershell, Python)
* Experience of Java Applications and middleware administration (WebLogic, Tomcat, Springboot)
* Experience configuring, managing and querying databases
* Knowledge of real time monitoring tools (e.g. Dynatrace)
